Surfers rinsing boards at a coastal outdoor shower

1. Pick your rinse zone

Choose a spot near the door, pool gate or driveway where sandy feet arrive. A surface that drains well, like a deck or gravel pad, keeps things tidy.

2. Connect to a garden hose

Our hose-fed gear uses standard 3/4 inch garden hose fittings. Seat quick-connectors fully and hand-tighten threaded ones to reduce drips.

3. Check pressure and connectors

Before each use, inspect connectors and confirm your home water pressure is within a normal range so hoses do not pop off under flow.

4. Manage drainage

Add an anti-slip mat for grip and a drainage tray to route rinse water away from doors and walkways, following local guidelines.

5. Rinse and store

Rinse off salt and sand, shut the supply, and drain hoses at season's end. Corrosion-resistant parts last longer when stored dry.

Common questions

No. All hose-fed and bag showers are for non-potable rinse use only. Do not drink from them or use them as a potable water source.
